Mohafe Provides Injury Update on Thabang Matuludi

Polokwane City boss Phuti Mohafe has provided an update on injured defender, Thabang Matuludi.
Since the beginning of the 2024/25 season, Matuludi has scored two goals in 14 matches across all competitions for Polokwane. However, he is currently on the shelf after suffering torn knee ligaments during a match against SuperSport United on 17 January.
Now, a little over a month later, Mohafe has given a somewhat promising update on the 26-year-old defender.
“He is about to come back,” he explained in an interview with a local soccer outlet (published on Thursday, 20 February). “We thought it would be a long-term injury, but we were so lucky that it is not long-term.
“So, he will be back not so long. I think in a week or two, he will start with his rehab. So that one [Matuludi] is about to come back.”
As for other injured players including Raymond Daniels, Douglas Mapfumo and Hlayisi Chauke, Mohafe remains optimistic: “We just hope that with Daniels, it’s not that serious. With the others … We miss them a lot, so we hope that they can come back quickly because we need them.”
